Runner-up of Spain – 17th Spanish Cigar World Smoking Championship (CWSC)
On July 11, 2026, the Pipa Club Barcelona hosted the 17th Spanish Cigar World Smoking Championship (CWSC), bringing together fifteen enthusiasts eager to test their technique, patience, and consistency in the slow art of cigar smoking.
Following a welcome address and an explanation of the rules by the international judges, David and Mariana, the competition began at 4:30 p.m. From that moment on, the participants faced the challenge of keeping their cigars lit for as long as possible, in a contest where composure and control are just as important as experience.
After 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 30 seconds, Thorsten Ebers (the Spanish Tiger) was crowned Spanish Champion for the third consecutive year, also earning the right to represent Spain at the international grand final to be held in Dubrovnik.
The final standings were:
1st. Thorsten Ebers – 2:17:30
2nd. Marck Castelló Roig – 1:32:27
3rd. Eduardo Navarro Basabé – 1:30:56
With this result, I became the CWSC Spanish runner-up, an achievement that filled me with great joy.
The event concluded with the awards ceremony and a raffle sponsored by the event partners, in which every participant received a prize, bringing to a close a memorable day defined by friendship, a great atmosphere, and a shared passion for the world of cigars.
